Minister of Transport of the Peoples Republic of China comes for visit port of Bronka - modern deep-water port of St.Petersburg


On 23rd of August 2018 delegation of the Peoples Republic of China headed by PRC Minister of Transport Mr. Li Xiaopeng and Russian Federation Vice Minister of Transport Mr. Yury Tsvetkov visited Port Bronka.

Accompanied by General Director of Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization Directorate for Development of the St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region Transport System Mr. Kirill Polyakov, Head of FSBI Administration of Baltic Seaports Mr. Petr Parinov, Head of North-Western Basin Branch of Federal State Unitary Enterprise Rosmorport Mr. Sergey Pylin and General Director of Fenix company operator of Port Bronka Mr. Nikolay Negodov, guests visited the unique deep-water terminal in St. Petersburg. Vice Minister of Transport Mr. Yury Tsvetkov described development perspectives of Port Bronka, which is an attractive transport junction for both west bounded and east bounded cargo.

Port Bronka is handling containerized, rolling, heavy lift and break bulk cargo since the end of 2015. Current annual port capacity is 500 thousands TEU and 1.5 mln tons of rolling, heavy lift and break bulk cargo. Ports operator will develop a railway infrastructure project South Railway Park up to 2025 year. The South Railway Park will have an annual capacity of 18 mln tons and will allow handling of minimum 15 container trains per day, enabling handling of round 2 mln TEU per year via quays.

As it was underlined by Mr. Kirill Polyakov that port Bronka is an example of fruitful private public partnership. Private investments comprised 60 percent and were used for shore infrastructure construction and 40 percent of state investments were used for construction of motor vehicles road connection to St.Petersburg ring road and for dredging of approach channel and aquatory of Port Bronka. PRC Minister of Transport Mr. Li Xiaopeng noted an excellent ports railways and good conditions for further development of railway infrastructure. Mr. Li Xiaopeng also invited participants of the meeting to visit fully automated terminals in Shanghai and Qingdao, as he sees perspectives for further cooperation.

Note: Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization Directorate for Development of the St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region Transport System is taking part in development of project Development of Railway Approaches to Deep-water Port Bronka.
